10강 시제2

1. 시간/조건 부사절에서는 현재가 미래를 대신한다.

의문사절 When = n = 언제

 

관계부사절 When = a = ~는

 

부사절 When = d = ~할 때

 

I don´t know [when he will come]. (O)

S          3Vt           O = n = 의문사절 = 언제

 

I will tell him something [when he will comes]. (X)

S      V      I.O        D.O             d = 부사절 = ~할 때

 

명사절 If = n = ~인지

 

부사절 If = a = ~라면

 

I don´t know [if it will rain tomorrow]. (O)

S          Vt          O = n = ~인지 아닌지

 

I will go out [if it will rains tomorrow]. (X)

S          V          d = 부사절 = 만약 ~라면

 

시간/조건 부사절: Until / till / as soon as / by the time / before / the moment

 

2. 예외

<때 / 조건>을 나타내는 절에서의 시제

1) 조건을 나타내는 부사절이라도 주어의 의지를 나타낼 경우 will을 사용한다.

Ex) If you will join us, we will all be happy. 우리와 함께하신다면 우리 모두 매우 기쁠 겁니다.

 

2) <명사절 / 형용사절>에서는 원칙적으로 미래의 일을 미래시제로 나타낸다.

Ex) I don´t know when the book will come out. <명사절> 나는 그 책이 언제 나올지 모른다.

 

Ex) The time will come when you will understand it. <형용사절> 네가 그것을 이해할 때가 올 것이다.

 

3) 그러나 실제 영어에서는 형용사절 및 명사절에서도 미래를 현재시제로 나타내는 경우가 종종 있다. 특히 주절의 동사가 미래시제이거나 미래를 암시하는 내용일 때 그러하다.

Ex) I will take the first bus that comes. <형용사절> 나는 첫 번째로 오는 버스를 탈 거야.

 

Ex) I hope he is on time. <명사절> 나는 그가 정시에 오기를 바란다.

 

3. 문제

1) 다음 중 시제의 쓰임이 틀린 것을 고르시오.
