1. 관계대명사 what의 관용어구

What one is 현재의 모습

What one was = what one used to be 과거의 모습

 

What one has 현재의 소유

What one had 과거의 소유

 

A is to B what C is to D

A와B관계는 C와D관계와 같다

 

 

2. 소유격 관계대명사 (~의)

선행사O / 소유관대 / 완전

 

He is the man and his car was stolen.

=>He is the man whose car was stolen.

                  선O / 소유 / 완전

 

This is the house and its windows are broken.

=>This is the house whose windows are broken.

                        선O / 소유 / 완전

 

 

3. 관계부사 (~하는)

선행사O / 관계부사(접+부) / 완전 = 형용사

접속사 + 부사역할 = 형용사절(~하는)

전치사 + 관계대명사 = 관계부사 취급

 

This is the house and I used to live in it.

=>This is the house which used to live in.

                       선O / 관대 / 불완전

 

=>This is the house in which I used to live.

=>This is the house where I used to live.

                        선O / 관부 / 완전
