1. 절 접속사의 이해

(명사절) S + V

(형용사절) S + V

(부사절) S + V

 

종속접속사란?

본동사가 속한 문장이 아닌 종속된 문장을 이루는 절 접속사 (명사절 / 형용사절 / 부사절)

 

 

2. 명사절 접속사 (If, whether / that절 / 의문사절)

If, whether: 주어와 보어 자리에 잘 안 온다. If 다음에 or not를 바로 붙여 쓸 수 없다. Whether는 쓸 수 있다.

 

That절:

의문사절: 의문사가 있고, 평서문이고, 해석이 되면, 명사절이다. 의/주/동 순서 파악.

 

It is unbelieved [that he is genius.] 그가 천재라는 것은 믿을 수 없다.

The fact is [that he said so.] 사실은 그가 그렇게 말했다는 것이다.

I don´t know [if he is honest.]

 

 

I don´t know [whether he is honest.] 나는 그가 정직 한지를 잘 모르겠다.

[When he died] is a mystery. 그가 언제 죽었는지 미스터리다.

3. 부사절 접속사

If (만약 ~라면) / when (~할 때) / until, till / by the time / as soon as / before

 

 

My father died [when I was a small boy.] 내가 어렸을 때 아빠는 죽었다.

         S          V     ~할 때

 

I will wait [until you come back.] 내가 당신이 돌아 올 때까지 기다릴게요.

S       V

 

I will have finished [by the time you come back.] 당신이 돌아 올 때까지 내가 끝마칠 거야.

S           V

 

 

4. No sooner than ~하자마자 (어법: 시제와 도치 출제 유의)

내가 방에 들어 오자마자 불이 켜진 걸 발견했다.

No sooner S + had p.p(대과거) than S + 과거
